What critics compared Batman and Robin to
I was there early, covering the production of comic book movies starting with Batman and Robin and Spawn , two films I sent information about to Ain’t It Cool News back in the prehistoric days of the Internet.
Think the likes of Fantastic Four and Daredevil, Batman and Robin and Catwoman and you’ll have an inkling for the flabbergasting, directionless mania of this shockingly bad Sony outing.
But if it succeeds, the Spider-Verse may finally get its own “Batman and Robin,” and I suppose that even after hating “Venom” from start to finish, I would be curious what that might look like.
Maybe not The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , Elektra , Batman and Robin or Catwoman sort of bad, but still pretty unbearable.
Add cheerfully inclined director Ron Howard and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, responsible for mediocre Hollywood generica like “Batman and Robin” and “Practical Magic,” and you can almost be sure that the end product will be in the ghastly tradition of films like “Shine,” “Nell” and “Patch Adams,” with their bogus sympathy and showboating lead performances.
To depict the rarefied demons of mental illness, screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, taking a cue from his Batman and Robin, invents not one sidekick for poor Nash but three: a bumptious roommate named Charles (Paul Bettany), a little girl named Marcee (Vivien Cardone), and a CIA spook named Parcher (Ed Harris, who after playing a mentally ill person in Pollock plays a symptom here).

The movie is largely unconcerned about whether it makes sense; it’s opting to go the “spectacle” route and, as such, offers arguably the most kitschy DC comic book-inspired property since Batman and Robin.

Think of what might happen if someone grafted parts of Batman and Robin onto The Crow, and you'll have an idea of how unpalatable The Punisher is.
Then a shootup scene that looked like it was from "Batman and Robin" or some other lame comic book movie.....then more boring.
Anyone responsible for Practical Magic, Batman and Robin AND the big screen bungle of Lost in Space deserves karate chops, not kudos.
There's a fine ensemble cast of Bonnie Hunt (of "Jerry McGuire") who plays Edgecomb's wife, Jan Edgecomb; David Morse (of "The Negotiator") who plays guard Brutus Howell; James Cromwell of "L.A. Confidential", who plays the warden; Michael Jeter (of "Patch Adams"), who plays prisoner Eduard Delacroix; Doug Hutchison (of "Batman and Robin"), who plays the nasty little guard Percy Wetmore.

…out of Memento Insomnia Batman Begins ( June 14/05) Batman returns in this film from acclaimed director Christopher Nolan, and while there's no denying that the movie is far more effective than either of Joel Schumacher's installments ( Batman Forever and Batman and Robin ), Tim Burton's Batman still remains the most intriguing and entertaining of the Dark Knight's adventures.
