Born Again looks like it could be an even better crime saga than The Penguin.
We live in a world where HBO’s Watchmen exists, and we’re still rolling off a year that gave us The Penguin, which is just about the best possible outcome for a corporate mandate to make lemonade out of intellectual-property lemons.
Those who appreciated the grittiness of The Penguin will find something similarly dark and well-crafted here.
Again, better job than “One Battle After Another” (2025) in using an organizational surrogate instead of just being lazy and dressing people in fatigues and being vaguely military.
The best episode is Episode 3, which gave “One Battle After Another” (2025) a run for its money.

The murder debate is getting less theoretical. It is very last season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” as the City is going out of control without Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) doing much since he set up a well-oiled machine of horribleness.
One of my pet peeves with the last season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” was that Sunnyvale was at the Hell Mouth, the locals figured it out, and there was a mass exodus.
Daredevil could be the equivalent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the disabled community.

This scene definitely feels like the Daredevil homage to the Heat diner scene.

I was expecting to see some of the Defenders such as Jessica Jones or Luke Cage, or maybe even Spider-Man or the new Hawkeye, since New York City is their home, too.
The goal is to bring back old fans and recruit new ones who do not want to do homework although “Hawkeye” and “Echo” seem like requirements.
We learn that due to the events of Hawkeye, Wilson Fisk took some time away from his marriage with Vanessa.
…so Kevin Feige knew the potential to give them more than just cameos a la “Hawkeye” and “She-Hulk” was real.
If you have not seen “Hawkeye” (2021), “Echo” (2023), and “Ms. Marvel” (2022), you can probably get by without any problem…
If you want Fisk’s complete story, you will need to toss in “Hawkeye” (2021).
It could work, but it is feeling a little eight season of “Game of Thrones” for my taste.
There’s even a scene that’s as shocking as anything you’d see in Game of Thrones.
It rivals and beats The Raft from “Captain America: Civil War” (2016) in depicting a world where vigilantes are outlawed, and civilians are just as affected.
