There are less overt but no less redolent inspirations throughout Red Notice — to the Bourne, Bond and Mission: Impossible movies, the National Treasure franchise and the Sean Connery-Catherine Zeta-Jones romp Entrapment .
It’s impossible to review Zero Dark Thirty without having to infiltrate a room full of political lasers like Catherine Zeta-Jones in Entrapment (much nicer metaphor than a mine field, isn’t it?).

The always wonderful Joan Cusack ("Cradle Will Rock," "Working Girl") is a bit shortchanged as far as screen time and material is concerned, while actresses such as Catherine Zeta-Jones ("Entrapment," "The Mask of Zorro"), Lili Taylor ("The Haunting," "The Impostors") and Lisa Bonet ("Angel Heart," TV's "The Cosby Show") are good in their limited roles as various women who torment Bob in one way or another during the film.

Englishman Amiel, who directed The Singing Detective for TV, and the films Copycat, Sommersby and Entrapment, does it by using good actors rather than major stars and by keeping the effects to a minimum.
At the heart of The Core�s problems are mass-destruction CGI effects that are some of the cheesiest ever (director Jon Amiel should stick to disasters like Entrapment).
