RoboCop 2 (1990)

After a successful deployment of the RoboCop Law Enforcement unit, OCP sees its goal of urban pacification come closer and closer, but as this develops, a new narcotic known as "Nuke" invades the streets led by God-delirious leader Cane. As this menace grows, it may prove to be too much for Murphy to handle. OCP tries to replicate the success of the first unit, but ends up with failed prototypes with suicidal issues... until Dr. Faxx, a scientist straying away from OCP's path, uses Cane as the new subject for the RoboCop 2 project, a living God.

What critics compared RoboCop 2 to
Miller always intended his Sin City stories to be sprawlingly cinematic: He began writing them after Hollywood butchered his RoboCop 2 screenplay, turning back to the comic page that allowed him complete freedom.
Robert Rodriguez directed the film ("El Mariachi," "Desperado," "From Dusk Till Dawn"), and also shot and edited it, with co-directing help from Miller ("Robocop 2," "Daredevil," "Elektra") and Quentin Tarantino ("Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," "Kill Bill"), without whose pioneering "Pulp Fiction" this present film would probably never have been made.
That already sounds a lot like RoboCop with a smattering of RoboCop 2 thrown in, with a few minor inversions here and there.
The only jerkiness I noticed was with the armored mechs some of the soldiers drove, and I’m not totally sure I would have noticed even that had I not had my attention drawn to it by the mechs’ strong resemblance to the very jerky ED-209 robot from Robocop 2 .
