This wacky prequel to the 1994 blockbuster goes back to the lame-brained Harry and Lloyd's days as classmates at a Rhode Island high school, where the unprincipled principal puts the pair in remedial courses as part of a scheme to fleece the school.

What critics compared Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd to
(Their bonding scene is set to Hall and Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True,” which performed a similar function in Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003).
Yet unlike those worthy yarns, this belongs to that subset of useless prequels/origin tales that absolutely no one demanded, like Butch and Sundance: The Early Days, Oz the Great and Powerful, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, and the ill-conceived Hannibal Rising, which presented the early, carefree years in the life of everyone's favorite cannibalistic serial killer.
About as useful as Hannibal Rising and the now-forgotten Butch and Sundance: The Early Years (and, while were at it, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd), Robin Hood gives us not the maverick Ridley Scott who directed such unique gems as Blade Runner and Thelma & Louise but the self-important Ridley Scott who helmed such lumbering duds as 1492: Conquest of Paradise and Kingdom of Heaven.
