Heist (2001)

Joe Moore has a job he loves. He's a thief. His job goes sour when he gets caught on security camera tape. His fence, Bergman, reneges on the money he's owed, and his wife may be betraying him with the fence's young lieutenant. Moore and his partner, Bobby Blane, and their utility man, Pinky Pincus, find themselves broke, betrayed, and blackmailed. Moore is forced to commit his crew to do one last big job.

What critics compared Heist to
In that spirit, among the recent crop of heist films, The Italian Job is better than Frank Oz's The Score and David Mamet's Heist , but not nearly so good as James Foley's Confidence .
The Italian Job has occasional busts of smart dialogue ("There are [thieves] who steal to enrich their lives, and ones who steal to define their lives"), but not enough to elevate it to the level of David Mamet's most recent caper movie, Heist .
It's a genre that has been attempted by everyone including David Mamet, whose love of keeping his audience in the dark reached its apotheosis in Heist (2001).
Ed "Braz" Brazzelton (Delroy Lindo, "Heist") is a former colleague of Zimsky's who allowed him to steal glory while he continued to develop new metal alloy that could withstand the earth's pressure.
