In the year 2455, Old Earth is now a contaminated planet abandoned for centuries -- a brown world of violent storms, toxic landmasses and poisonous seas. Yet humans have returned to the deadly place that they once fled, not to live, but to research the ancient, rusting artifacts of the long-gone civilizations. But it's not the harmful environment that could prove fatal to the intrepid, young explorers who have just landed on Old Earth. For them, it's Friday the 13th, and Jason lives!

Todd Farmer wrote the more-intentionally-outrageous-than-I-expected "Jason X," and then worked for a while as a studio assignment writer, a gig that can be very frustrating.
I rather admire the way that the script, co-written by Lussier with Todd Farmer (of My Bloody Valentine and Jason X ), assumes we get it: we see the opening scene in which Milton tears ass out of a rather delightfully designed CGI Hell, we get the jokes about "I thought you were dead", and we never need a big scene where it's explained to us.
Reteaming with My Bloody Valentine 3D co-writer Todd Farmer (the sole credited screenwriter on Jason X ), Lussier is at his best when shooting bouncy, loud, and joyfully absurd action scenes.
Looking through Farmer’s filmography, the most notable thing he’s done is Jason X , which is actually a good example of a good bad film, something that they tried to turn this into, but failed.
