Meanwhile, Powder comes across as a cross between Cliff Robertson's " Charly ," the Elephant Man, Mr. Spock, E.T. and Jesus.
In between there's a serviceable storyline that reveals a director with a genuine affection for horror and fantastic filmmaking (Salva previously helmed the underrated Powder) and an exceedingly well-developed sense of pacing.
I can only hope that Salva's past notoriety will not taint this film as it did his (also excellent) 1995 effort, Powder.

Victor Salva ( Rites of Passage , Powder ) brings a taut, anxious style to this edgy little film (which in fact was executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola ).
"Jeepers Creepers" is just such a horror movie -- made all the worse by the fact that writer-director Victor Salva ("Powder") actually tries to justify the idiotic actions of his primary pinheads.
