What critics compared Sabotage to
Other shots, those of death squads as seen from the inside of a train, are reminiscent of earlier Hitchcock films from his between-the-wars British period, particularly "Sabotage."
Anderson names "The Lady Vanishes," "The 39 Steps," "Sabotage" and "Torn Curtain" as specific inspirations.
It reminds us of the way Sylvia Sidney regards Oskar Homolka in Alfred Hitchcock’s Sabotage.
[Hitch once told me that after a screening of Sabotage (1936) - that has a scene in which a boy is blown up by a bomb in a bus - he was assaulted.
