Plot
“Seeking a Friend for the End of the World” is one of those tender Armageddon love stories that crop up every so often — 1988’s “Miracle Mile,” 1998’s “Last Night,” 2009’s French thriller “Happy End.”
A scene set in Wilshire's legendary coffee shop Johnie's, in fact, celebrates the tenth anniversary in 1998 of Steve De Jarnatt's similarly Pynchon-indebted Miracle Mile.
The frustrating part is that there is already a film that combines the frenetic, one-night-in-New-York-City energy of After Hours with a dystopian romance premise: Steve De Jarnatt's Miracle Mile (1988).
