Imagine Me & You is a little like watching Four Weddings and a Funeral on a magic TV that has been slightly more esoterically calibrated.
In other words, what we have here is sort of a lesbian version of "Four Weddings and a Funeral," and in spots Parker's movie finds some of that film's charm.
Producers angling for the next Four Weddings And A Funeral would be wise to scoop up Goode for any role Hugh Grant turns down.

The prospect of a Sundance-wowing indie take on the themes of The Fault in Our Stars or Now Is Good sounds irksome beyond words, but Alfonso Gomez-Rejon’s very likable film confounds both expectations and prejudices.
A double award-winner at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, it hails from the bizarrely popular teen cancer romance genre (see also Dakota Fanning in Now is Good and Mia Wasikowska in Restless) but displays an ingenious disdain from minute one for the saccharine demands of those movies.
This is neither The Fault in Our Stars nor Now Is Good , nor is it Gus Van Sant’s appalling Restless (11) in which Mia Wasikowska wore adorable hats and a pixie crop in an advertisement for the beauty benefits of teenage cancer.
Romantic comedies have never gone away, but mainstream examples with A-list stars have been pretty thin on the ground since the glory days of the ’90s and early 2000s, when “Pretty Woman,” “Notting Hill,” “Love Actually” and “Bridget Jones’s Diary” ruled at the box office.

As Sophie's other two dads Harry and Bill, Colin Firth (2017's " Kingsman: The Golden Circle ") and Stellan Skarsgård (2015's " Avengers: Age of Ultron ") are good sports in smaller roles, giving their all during the large-scale, exquisitely mounted "Dancing Queen" number, which effectively bridges the second and third acts.In extended flashbacks, Lily James (2017's " Baby Driver ") is radiant and a terrific singer, to boot, as young Donna.
