100 years ago, titans suddenly appeared on Earth. Soon, human civilization veered on collapse due to the titans. Humans then built a giant wall to defend themselves. Within the giant walls, humans lived in peace, but, 100 years later, the giant wall is broken.

A chimera of influences, from Jaws, though Attack on Titan, and even Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
The easiest way to describe Hope, while leaving the lion’s share of its monster mysteries intact, is: Eddington meets Spielberg’s War of the Worlds meets Attack on Titan.
This hardly comes as a surprise -- Higuchi (Japan Sinks), who's slated to co-direct Godzilla Reboot (2016), was one of Japan's top special effects director.
