In the future, medical technology has advanced to the point where people can buy artificial organs to extend their lives. But if they default on payments, an organization known as the Union sends agents to repossess the organs. Remy is one of the best agents in the business, but when he becomes the recipient of an artificial heart, he finds himself in the same dire straits as his many victims.

What critics compared Repo Men to
Maybe he thought making a movie like Total Recall or eXistenZ was easier than it looks because there is a totally twisted slice of entertainment buried underneath this generic junk but director Miguel Sapochnik doesn't have the talent to find it.
I get having the flawed hero, the ex-bad guy who finds out everything he believed in was untrue and who turns against the system, as seen in films like Equilibrium or Total Recall .
The Genetic Opera, Repo Men mostly plays like an uninspired rip-off of Logans Run plus Brazil plus Total Recall plus Monty Pythons The Meaning of Life plus well, I could do this all day.
Director Michael Sapochnik and screenwriters Erik Garcia and Garrett Lerner have cobbled together this blood-drenched futuristic thriller from a host of more inventive sources: Blade Runner , Gattaca , Repo; the Genetic Opera, and even David Cronenberg 's 1996 collision-injury creepfest, Crash.
Jude Law has been smart about his career, even appearing in some great sci-fi movies in the past like A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and Gattaca , which makes the decision to attach himself to this screenplay completely baffling.

Tom Hanks is an old hand at playing an isolated character—he was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as a FedEx guy stranded on a deserted island in Robert Zemeckis’ 2000 smash “Cast Away”—and he offers something similar in this post-apocalyptic road movie from Miguel Sapochnik (who, since his 2010 feature debut with the awful sci-fi flick “Repo Men,” has concentrated on small screen work, including “Game of Thrones”).

Hardly the effect director Miguel Sapochnik (“Repo Men”) is attempting in overtly assaulting your emotions with his collection of misfits that includes another "WALL-E"-like robot dubbed Dewey.
Thankfully, director Miguel Sapochnik ("Repo Men") has Tom Hanks and a sweet rescue named Seamus and his decision to just embrace his material’s corniness works in its favor.
While not as bad as 2010’s “Repo Men,” things do get a bit wacky and gruesome.
