Jane, a struggling but perpetually stoned actress, has a busy day ahead. She has several important tasks on her list, including buying more marijuana. Even though she already has a good start on the day's planned drug use, she eats her roommate's pot-laced cupcakes and embarks on a series of misadventures all over Los Angeles.

What critics compared Smiley Face to
The pot humor is tired, particularly when compared to 2007's underseen Anna Faris comedy "Smiley Face," but that fortunately takes a back-seat as the chase commences.
You have Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused, Gregg Araki's Smiley Face , and now David Gordon Green's Pineapple Express.
"Pineapple Express," produced by comedy kingpin Judd Apatow, may be the high-profile stoner comedy this summer.
Hence the slider quest of the first Harold and Kumar movie, or Anna Faris’ bewildering trek across Los Angeles in the unaccountably ignored Smiley Face .
Just about the only thing he’s good at is riding a Segway, and still he’s able to snag a date with that twiggy redhead from Smiley Face who refuses to buy weed from Anna Faris.
On the plus side, 100 percent sober when I watched it, I can say with some authority that Dylan Haggerty has written an eleventh-hour candidate for the funniest movie of 2007, that Gregg Araki has directed his finest film since 1997's Nowhere, and that Faris, flawless, rocks their inspired idiot odyssey in a virtuoso comedic turn.
