What critics compared License to Wed to
Directed by Ken Kwapis (License to Wed) from a screenplay by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, He's Just Not That Into You is the screen adaptation of the cynical relationship rule book by Sex and the City writer Greg Behrendt and editor Liz Tuccillo that was popular 15 minutes ago.
But somewhere along the way, "He's Just Not That Into You" -- which was written by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein and directed by Ken Kwapis, whose last movie was "License to Wed" -- starts taking all the wrong forks in the road of romance and ends up nowhere.
"HJNTIY" (I'm tired of typing that title) is directed by Ken Kwapis who has helmed numerous episodes of "The Office," which tells us he has talent, but also the execrable "License to Wed," which tells us he can be a part of something truly awful.
Director Ken Kwapis, who has inflicted License to Wed and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on unsuspecting moviegoers, drags out the script by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein for a punishing two hours and ten minutes.
Neither the director of the vomitable License to Wed (2007), nor the screenwriters (Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein) of Never Been Kissed (1999), nor the largely B-list cast exactly engendered keen anticipation.
Instead, director Ken Kwapis (2007's " License to Wed ") and screenwriters Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein (1999's " Never Been Kissed ") treat both sexes with an equal fair hand.
