What critics compared National Treasure: Book of Secrets to
For those not in the know, Gage is something of a chummy synthesis of Indiana Jones and Tom Hanks’s cryptographer from The Da Vinci Code.
In other words, National Treasure: Book of Secrets is essentially the same movie as its blockbuster predecessor, meaning it's a draggy combination of The Da Vinci Code and matinee-style thrills.
Even Helen Mirren had "National Treasure: Book of Secrets."
But while it clearly aims for Raiders Of The Lost Ark — “When did you decide to become Indiana Jones?” someone says at one point, while our heroes’ trek is depicted by a red dotted line on a map, Indy-style — it lands somewhere around National Treasure 2 instead.
