It is presented as a double feature with fictitious exploitation trailers preceding each segment.

His film is nominally a tribute to old car-chase movies (he cites the 1971 "Vanishing Point" and the original, 1974 "Gone in 60 Seconds"), and the chasing and the crashing in it are suitably spectacular, in a familiar way.
Here, brutality reigns: One of the companions is a Nazi-like officer and human testicle-collector, in anticipation of the Naveen Andrews character in Robert Rodriguez's episode of " Grindhouse " (which also features a peg-legged person, as in "The Holy Mountain").
A kind of mishmash of “Escape From New York” and “The Fog” , with little bits of “The Return of the Living Dead” and “Maximum Overdrive” thrown in for good measure, “Planet Terror” concerns a military experiment gone wrong in a sleazy Texas town, resulting in the release of noxious gas that turns everyone into oozing, brain gobbling zombies.
