Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)

Cyborg detective Batou is assigned to investigate a series of murders committed by gynoids—doll-like cyborgs, which all malfunctioned, killed, then self-destructed afterwards. The brains of the gynoids initialize in order to protect their manufacturer's software, but in one gynoid, which Batou himself neutralized, one file remains: a voice speaking the phrase "Help me."

The best sequel to Blade Runner is Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, with a long sidelong glance at Under the Skin, perhaps--and Her, too.
A chain-smoking scientist character from “Innocence,” explicitly modeled on “A Cyborg Manifesto” author Donna Haraway, gets repurposed as a simple plot functionary.
They actually make compatible companion pieces, the fetishistic curlicues of "Innocence" offset by "Irishman's" more understated demeanor and relative disinterest in depicting bloodshed.
Sanders (“Snow White and the Huntsman”) draws, of course, from Shirow Masamune’s original book, an anime series first serialized in 1989, as well from Mamoru Oshii’s 1996 adaptation (as well as its 2004 sequel, “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence”).
