If that summary for Rambo: Last Blood - which Stallone co-wrote with Matt Cirulnick (Absentia) based on a screen story that Sly and Dan Gordon (The Hurricane) are credited for - sounds a bit like "Taken, but featuring Rambo", it's because that's basically what Last Blood is.
While Fuqua's presence would almost make one believe Denzel Washington would automatically come along for the ride, that actor already did the boxer thing in "The Hurricane."
Veteran director Norman Jewison ("Moonstruck") pulls these various stories together very deftly.
It doesn't hurt that four-time Oscar nominated director Norman Jewison ("A Soldier's Story," "Moonstruck") is at the helm.
