What critics compared Regarding Henry to
At least one unfunny comedy (the 1940 William Powell-Myrna Loy vehicle I Love You Again) and one unmoving drama (the 1991 Harrison Ford vehicle Regarding Henry) have been built around the premise of amnesia threatening a marriage.
There's no close-up of the marquee, or of the posters on the street, to indicate what they've just seen, but here are some suggestions: Memento, Regarding Henry, Random Harvest, I Love You Again, any of the Bournes.
Like Nichols, Mendes gives off a whiff of exhausting, smart-ass cleverness (seen in Nichols’s Wolf , Regarding Henry , and Charlie Wilson’s War ).
Abrams also wrote the screenplays for the films Regarding Henry, Armageddon, and Joy Ride (an underrated flick), so you see he's all over the place with his talent...also refreshing.
Most impressive is his screenwriting work which includes such films as "Regarding Henry" (1991) and "Armageddon" (1998), and such TV series as "Felicity," "Alias," and "Lost."
It has far more in common with his generic, tone-deaf Regarding Henry script than his epic Star Trek.

It's ironic and encouraging to find that, after years of making so-so movies like Wolf, The Birdcage and Regarding Henry, 73-year-old Mike Nichols has made one of the most daring films of the year.
