Michael ‘Jay’ Cochran has just left the Navy after 12 years and he's not quite sure what he's going to do, except that he knows he wants a holiday. He decides to visit Tiburon Mendez, a powerful but shady Mexican businessman who he once flew to Alaska for a hunting trip. Arriving at the Mendez mansion in Mexico, he is immediately surprised by the beauty and youth of Mendez’s wife, Miryea.

What critics compared Revenge to
It’s practically a reboot of 2004’s “Man on Fire” (itself a remake of a 1987 Scott Glenn picture), which is second only to the operatically unpleasant “Revenge” in the nastiest film Tony Scott ever made.
Since Tarantino's reputation was made with the sadistically ultra-violent "Reservoir Dogs," and director Scott has shown a penchant for lurid, stylized violence in "Revenge" and "The Last Boy Scout," "True Romance" would appear to be a match made in the hell of Hollywood.

The movie’s director, Tony Scott (“Top Gun,” “ Man on Fire ”), was on a streak of directing some supremely bad movies (1990’s “Revenge” and “Days of Thunder,” 1991’s “The Last Boy Scout”), and had lost any clout he may have had.
His credits include Revenge, Beverly Hills Cop II, Top Gun and Days of Thunder.
For a better Tony Scott film, try "Revenge"; for Tarantino, "Jackie Brown" is pretty hard to beat.
