Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017): It turns out there’s more to Wonder Woman’s (real world) origin story than we knew.
Robinson’s film blends elements of “Kinsey” and the sad, little-seen portrait of the creator of “Conan the Barbarian” — “The Whole Wide World.”
Marston himself comes off as another stock male sexual guru, not unlike Prof. Alfred Kinsey, who was played by Liam Neeson in Bill Condon’s Kinsey or Dr. William Masters, the neurotic sexologist played by Michael Sheen in the onetime hit Showtime series Masters of Sex .
It’s made Gal Gadot a star and even managed to get fans excited about next month’s “Justice League” despite having suffered through “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
It took the appearance of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to get the ball rolling.
