It’s too kind to say borrowed-from, so let’s say this film outright bastardizes films like Demon Knight, Beauty and the Beast, Dracula, Silent Hill, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, and even The Serpent and the Rainbow.
It will take 45 minutes of screen time to make it to the rocky enclosed shores of the mythical location and another 25 mixing it up with a cast of natives that look like they were bred from LOTR�s Orcs and the townspeople of The Serpent and the Rainbow.
They are vicious, bat-toothed, blank-eyed, hoodoo-horror zombies beyond the imaginations even of Angel Heart or The Serpent and the Rainbow, and in the many extended close-ups on their terrible faces, you can practically sense the human meat strung like floss between their teeth.
