These are not cats like Garfield, who often scorn us and bestow their favors sparingly, or an “Every Which Way But Loose” orangutan who can outwit us.
This Bonnie and Clyde couldn’t have less on screen chemistry if Clyde was the orangutan from Every Which Way but Loose.
As the title suggests, this is an origin story, with the loner hero played once again by Hugh Jackman in his Clint Eastwood/Every Which Way But Loose mode.
Frost, as Ed, avoids caricature as the slob sidekick who does a good job of imitating Clyde the orangutan from Every Which Way But Loose to cheer up his buddy.
