There’s no shortage of fantasy gems about afterlife bureaucracy conflicting with true love, including “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” (remade into another classic, “Heaven Can Wait”), the wartime Powell-Pressburger masterpiece “A Matter of Life and Death” and Albert Brooks’ “Defending Your Life.”
