In 1988, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers was released as a means to revive/course correct a franchise that had, in terms of audience reception and box office, ostensibly died on the vine thanks to a creative miscalculation.
The main storyline picks up again with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (which did not involve the return of Jamie Lee Curtis or Laurie Strode) and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers , a two-part story in which Michael seeks out Laurie's daughter, Jamie Lloyd.

Gone are all of the sequels, and not just the Laurie-less entries Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5 , but also the films Curtis did appear in, most notably the aforementioned Halloween II and 1998’s Halloween H20 .

And there is but one example of why American thrillers involving the president—Absolute Power, Murder At 1600, Deterrence, Independence Day, Air Force One, etc.—are doomed to be completely ridiculous.

That's all the connections!
