“12 Strong” doesn’t allow him the same range, which brings to mind another actor rising in prominence: John Cena, who made his silver-screen debut with “The Marine,” another military drama, but has found far more success in comic roles.
You might remember them from such film as The Marine and The Marine 2. At first I was going to comment positively on the lack of professional wrestlers, but then I rechecked the cast listing and found "Officer Jake Devans" -- partner to Jordan's boyfriend Paul (Morris Chestnut) -- was played by David Otunga of Nexus and WWE Tag-Team fame.
