Director Lexi Alexander, who herself once belonged to a football firm, recasts the cult of male violence (the same one romanticized in Fight Club and denigrated in A Clockwork Orange ) in a documentary-like study of warrior-class group dynamics.
This is "Fight Club" without any of those pesky rules.
On the acting front, there's a lot to like about Green Street Hooligans, from Wood's gamely physical performance to lead goon Charlie Hunnam's amazing duplication of Brad Pitt in Fight Club, right down to the smallest facial tics.
And it's not the only ludicrous thing about this overwrought and obvious "Fight Club" knock-off.

Meanwhile, the duo of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who wrote arguably the best Punisher adaptation, the Lexi Alexander directed Punisher: War Zone (2008), are never allowed to bring the absurd extremity of that film into play with this movie.
Because try as they may, Chandor and Taylor-Johnson, ‘Kraven’ is ultimately written by the unremarkable accredited trio of Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer 3”) and the duo of Art Marcum Matt Holloway (“Punisher: War Zone”) and this hunter-becomes-the-hunted cliched, formulaic, expository-riddled and hacky dialogued screenplay cannot be salvaged.
At least Hunnam ("Nicholas Nickleby") shaved his head and wears bulky jackets to cover up his slight frame, and his performance does have a certain prickly edge to it.
