For her engrossing portrayal of a similar character in Tony Goldwyn’s A Walk on the Moon, she earned a Best Actress Spirit Award.
She also played the part of an unfaithful wife in "A Walk on the Moon."
Playing the adulterous wife, Diane Lane ("The Glass House," "Hardball") delivers a good performance and gets a lot more out of the character than appears to be written in the script, notwithstanding all of the unbelievable behavior or the fact that she already played a very similar role in "A Walk on the Moon."
With the possible exception of A Walk on the Moon (the other movie in which she played a cheating housewife), Lane has never been better.
If the themes of adultery and its consequences interest you more -- or even if you just want to see Diane Lane nude and/or giving a superb performance -- try 1999's "A Walk On the Moon."
Diane Lane, an actress since she was 6 and in movies from "A Little Romance" through "A Walk on the Moon" since she was 12, gives her most completely realized performance as the suburban goddess who betrays husband Richard Gere with paramour Olivier Martinez.
